Emergency Stop Signal system
Your Mazda is equipped with an Emergency Stop Signal system, which is designed to recognize a more forceful brake pedal application than during normal driving.
If the system detects emergency braking, all turn signals will flash rapidly to warn the driver of the vehicle behind you that sudden braking is occurring.
The system switches off when it determines that the brake pedal has been released or that emergency braking is no longer taking place based on the reduced vehicle speed.
CAUTION
If you stop the vehicle while the turn signals are flashing rapidly, the system will change their flashing rate to the normal hazard warning flashing.
The Emergency Stop Signal system does not operate at speeds below 60 km/h.
If the brake pedal is pressed while driving on a slippery road surface, the Emergency Stop Signal system may activate, causing all turn signals to flash rapidly.
