Windshield washer and wiper control
WARNING
When the temperature is below freezing, the washer fluid may freeze on the windshield and obstruct your view, which may lead to an accident. Warm the windshield using the defroster before using the washer.
WARNING
- Do not operate the washer for more than 30 seconds continuously.
- Do not operate the washer if the washer fluid reservoir is empty.
- Do not fill the washer fluid reservoir with undiluted concentrates. Splashes of some methanol-based washer fluid concentrates can permanently stain the grille while the washer fluid reservoir is being filled.
- Mix the washer fluid concentrate with water according to the manufacturer's recommendations before pouring the mixture into your vehicle's washer fluid reservoir. Do not mix the solution in the reservoir itself.
If snow or ice interrupts windshield wiper operation, the wiper may stop to protect its motor. In this case, turn the wiper control to OFF, then remove the snow or ice on or around the wiper arms. After about one minute, return the control to ON to operate the wiper.
Control Operation

The wipers and washer operate when the ignition switch is in the ON position.
Push the lever down to operate the wipers at the following settings:
- INT (intermittent) - Intermittent operation is adjusted by turning the dial toward A (longer intervals) or B (shorter intervals). Intermittent intervals also depend on vehicle speed.
(For example, if vehicle speed is high, the intermittent intervals will be shorter.)
- LO (low speed) - The wipers operate continuously at low speed.
- HI (high speed) - The wipers operate continuously at high speed.
Push the lever up 4 for a single wipe cycle (MIST).
Pull the lever toward you 5 to activate the washer.
The wipers will also perform several wipe cycles.
