The Intelligent Key operates only when it is within the specified range.

When the Intelligent Key battery is almost discharged or strong radio waves are transmitted nearby, the operating range of the Intelligent Key system is reduced and the Intelligent Key may not operate properly.

As long as the Intelligent Key is within the proper range, even a person who does not have it on them can press the ignition switch to start the engine.

The engine start function range covers only the inside of the vehicle 1 .

  • The cargo area is not within the range, but the Intelligent Key may still operate.
  • The Intelligent Key may not operate if you place it on the instrument panel, in the glove box, in a storage tray, or in a door pocket.
  • The Intelligent Key may operate if it is placed near the door or window on the outside of the vehicle.
