Accelerated idle control
In this manual: Engine and peripherals
~1min read

Variable post-heating can be interrupted:
- permanently when coolant temperature is > 60°C,
- temporarily when the control unit receives the full-load signal for more than 3 seconds; the function is restored on return to idle or low load,
- temporarily if battery voltage >16 V; the function is restored if Ubatt < 15 V.
In all cases, the total duration of the post-heating function shall not exceed 3 min.
The accelerated idle function is controlled by the control unit via a solenoid valve that operates the vacuum actuator (A/C or non-A/C version).
The accelerated idle control is active:
- if coolant temperature at ignition switch-on is below 10°C,

- if engine speed drops to 650 rpm and vehicle speed is below 25 km/h. Accelerated idle cuts out as soon as engine speed exceeds 850 rpm.
NOTE:
- Accelerated idle active:
- solenoid valve not energised,
- cable free, not tensioned.
- Nominal idle:
- solenoid valve energised,
- cable under tension.
SPECIAL FEATURES: as soon as A/C is selected on the dashboard, accelerated idle is activated.
