PROCEDURE 1. Disconnect the wire from the negative battery terminal. 2. Pump the fuel out of the tank using a pump, as the fuel tank has no drain plug. 3. Disconnect the electrical connector from fuel level sensor 16 and hoses 14 and 17 (see subsection 3.1.7).

4. Raise the rear of the vehicle with a jack and support it on stands, then remove the right rear wheel. 5. Unscrew the bolts 5 securing the filler pipe. 6. Position a jack under the fuel tank. Place a wooden block between the jack and the tank. 7. Unscrew the bolts 3 securing the fuel tank. 8. Lower the fuel tank with the jack and pull it out from under the vehicle. 9. Install the fuel tank in the reverse order. Tighten the bolts 3 securing the fuel tank to 25 N·m torque, and the bolts 5 securing the filler pipe to 10 N·m torque. 10. If it is necessary to remove the expansion tank 22, unscrew its mounting bolts and remove it from the wheel well.
