Headlight Removal

Main headlight components (illustration shows the headlights of models with 4- and 5-cylinder engines)
1 – lens;
2 – rubber seal;
3 – reflector with bulb housing;
4 – retaining clips;
5 – headlight level adjustment motor;
6 – cover;
7 – trim panel;
8 – headlight housing.

To remove the headlight, unscrew the bolts indicated by the arrows in the illustration.

PROCEDURE

Preparation: see Bulb Replacement.

Remove the strip below the headlights (see Body Elements chapter).

At the rear of the headlight, loosen the cover(s), disconnect the multi-pin connector and the parking light holder.

Pull the wiring harness with its sheath through the opening in the headlight unit housing.

Remove the two upper mounting screws from the body panel, and the two more below the headlight.

Pull the headlight forward and remove it.

Models with 4- and 5-cylinder engines: additionally remove the turn signal housing.
