PROCEDURE

Models with 4- and 5-cylinder engines: dexterity is one of the keys to success in this work.

Remove the grille on the left side (on models with a 5-cylinder engine).

Depending on the engine installed in your vehicle, first disconnect the rubber retainer on the right headlamp unit, press both retaining clips rearward, and pull up the center part of the cover (where applicable, the air intake hose must also be removed). Detach the outer trim panel (Phillips-head screws, from above).

If you still cannot reach, the headlamp unit must be removed.

Models with 6-cylinder engine: loosen the Phillips-head bolt on the headlamp unit housing.

Disconnect the headlamp; it is integrated into the fog lamp by two mounting lugs.

All models: Turn the bulb socket slightly to the left and pull it back.

Press the bulb slightly into the socket, turn it counterclockwise and remove it.

Installation: Insert the socket into the turn signal housing and turn it clockwise until it stops.

Removal of Turn Signal Housing

Models with 4- and 5-Cylinder Engines
PROCEDURE

If necessary, remove the headlight unit.

Unscrew the bulb socket.

Squeeze the retaining tabs of the turn signal housing toward the socket.

Push the turn signal housing forward.

For installation of the turn signal housing, carefully insert the retaining tabs into the guides on the headlight housing and secure them.

The wiring (1) for the fog light retrofit is already routed. It is led (arrow) to the mounting hole at the bottom, which becomes accessible after removing the front trim panel (2).

To separate the turn signal housing from the headlight unit body (1) on models with 4- and 5-cylinder engines, squeeze the retaining tabs (arrow) toward the socket and pull the housing out of the guides on the headlight body (item 2 shows the lower one).

Models with 4- and 5-Cylinder Engines:

1 – bulb socket;
2 – bulb housing.

Models with 6-Cylinder Engine:

1 – bulb housing;
2 – outer turn signal lens.

The arrow points to one of the retaining lugs by which the turn signal housing is installed in the fog light housing.
