AdBlue range indicators (BlueHDi)
BlueHDi diesel engines are fitted with a system that combines the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) anti-pollution system with the diesel particulate filter (DPF) to treat exhaust gases. They cannot run without AdBlue fluid.
The regulatory engine immobiliser activates automatically as soon as the AdBlue tank is empty. It is then no longer possible to start the engine until a minimum AdBlue level has been restored.
Manual display of range
When the driving range is greater than 2,400 km, it is not displayed automatically.

Required actions due to low AdBlue
The following warning lights come on when the AdBlue quantity is below the reserve level corresponding to a range of 2,400 km.
Along with the warning lights, messages regularly remind you to top up to avoid the engine being blocked from starting.
Refer to the Warning lights section for details of the messages displayed.
For more information on AdBlue (BlueHDi), and in particular on topping up, refer to the corresponding section.

Top-up detection
The system may not detect a top-up instantly, but only after a few kilometres.
SCR anti-pollution system 1 fault
Fault detection
If a fault is detected, these warning lights come on, together with an audible signal and a message such as "Emissions fault".
The alert is triggered while driving when the fault is detected for the first time, then at ignition-on on subsequent trips for as long as the cause of the fault persists.
If the fault is temporary, the alert disappears on the next trip, after the SCR anti-pollution system self-diagnosis check.
Fault confirmed during the permitted driving phase (between 1,100 and 0 km)
After 50 km driven with the fault warning permanently displayed, the SCR system failure is confirmed.
The AdBlue warning light flashes, together with a message ("Emissions fault: Starting prohibited in X km") showing the driving range in kilometres or miles.
While driving, the message is displayed every 30 seconds. The alert is repeated each time the ignition is switched on.
You can drive up to 1,100 km before the engine immobiliser is triggered.
As soon as possible, have the system checked by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
Starting prohibited
Each time the ignition is switched on, the message "Emissions fault: Starting prohibited" is displayed.
To restart the engine, contact a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
