In the front seat
Carrying a child in the front passenger seat is subject to different regulations in different countries. Familiarise yourself with the applicable laws and follow the instructions shown in the diagram on the next page.
Before installing a child seat in this position (if permitted):
- deactivate the front passenger airbag;
- lower the seat belt as far as possible;
- move the seat as far back as possible;
- tilt the backrest slightly from the vertical axis (by about 25 degrees);
- on vehicles equipped with this feature, raise the seat cushion as far as possible.
In such cases, raise the front head restraint as far as possible until it no longer touches the child seat (see the paragraph "Front head restraints" in chapter 1).
After installing the child seat, the seat may be moved forward if necessary (to leave sufficient space behind for passengers or other child seats). A rear-facing child seat must not touch the dashboard or be in the fully forward position.
Do not change the settings again after installing the child seat.
RISK OF DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY: before installing a rear-facing child seat in this position, make sure the front passenger airbag is switched off (see the paragraph "Deactivating the front passenger airbag" in chapter 1).Test yourself
