Rear crankshaft seal 127 can be replaced without removal.

PROCEDURE.

1. Transmission case..

2. Mounting bolts and flywheel

126..

3. Clutch cover 123 and clutch driven disc (manual transmission only)..

4. Remove the rear seal

127. Clean the seal seat in the block and the seal journal on the shaft..

Installation

PROCEDURE.

1. Install new rear seal 127 into the cylinder block bore. Press the seal evenly around the entire circumference (use tool J36792). To facilitate

installation, lubricate the outer surface of the seal..

2. Flywheel..

Warning.

Use only new bolts..

3. Tighten flywheel bolts to 35 N·m, then additionally

tighten by turning 30°–45°..

4. Clutch cover

123. Tighten clutch cover bolts to 35 N·m.

5. Clutch driven disc (manual transmission only)..

6. Transmission case.
