Oil Pan

Remove or disconnect:

PROCEDURE.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Raise and support the vehicle.

3. Remove the drain plug and drain the oil from the pan.

4. Unscrew bolts 137 and remove the oil pan

134. Clean mating

surfaces of cylinder block and oil pan..

Clean.

Refer to subsection 2.31.

Installation

PROCEDURE.

1. Oil pan 134 with new gasket

133. Apply sealant to gasket 133.

2. Apply GM 1052917 sealant to the joint of the oil pan..

3. Apply GM 1052624 sealant to bolts 137 and thread them in. Tighten the bolts.

oil pan mounting bolts to torque 5 N·m..

4. Drain plug

135. Tighten the drain plug to torque 45 N·m..

5. Lower the vehicle and fill with engine oil..

6. Negative battery cable.
