GENERAL INFORMATION

Engine mounting crossbar

Warning.

To avoid injury, carefully check the correct installation and secure attachment of the engine to the engine hoist crossbar

engine mounting and the reliability of engine attachment to the lifting crossbar.

(tool KM-263), installed above the engine compartment..

Defective engine mounts must be replaced with new ones immediately to prevent

failure of other mounts and other components..

Inspection

PROCEDURE.

1. Raise the engine to relieve the load on the mount rubber cushions.

2. Check the rubber cushion surfaces for cracks caused by overheating.

3. Check for separation of the rubber cushions from the plates.

4. Check for cracks and tears in the middle of the cushions.

5. Check for loose bolts and nuts.

Remove or disconnect:

PROCEDURE.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Suspend the engine from the lifting crossbar (tool KM-263)..

3. Right front mount bracket bolt..

4. Bolt securing right front mount bracket to engine block..

5. Right front mount nuts and washers..

6. Left front mount bracket bolts..

7. Bolts securing left front mount bracket to engine block..

8. Left front mount bolts and washers..

9. Rear mount nut, bolt, washer and bracket..

10. Bolts, washers and rear engine mount from the vehicle.
