Exhaust Manifold Nut Tightening Sequence

Remove or disconnect:

PROCEDURE.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Oxygen sensor 42 wire..

3. Heat shield B, unscrewing three bolts A..

4. Dipstick

5. Raise the vehicle and remove the dual exhaust pipe 44 with gasket

43..

6. Exhaust manifold 41 and gasket 40, unscrewing 9 nuts

38. Mating surfaces.

Installation

PROCEDURE.

1. Exhaust manifold 41 with new gasket

2. Install eight nuts 38 with washers

37. Tighten the exhaust manifold nuts to 22 N·m in the sequence shown in figure..

Exhaust Manifold Nut Tightening Sequence..

3. Raise the vehicle and install the dual exhaust pipe 44 with gasket 43 using

three nuts

47. Tighten the dual exhaust pipe nuts

to 25 N·m..

4. Dipstick

5. Install heat shield B on exhaust manifold 41, tightening three bolts A.
