Alarm system triggering
The alarm is triggered in the following cases:
- opening of any door, the hood or the tailgate (perimeter protection);
- attempt to start the engine (key turned to MAR);
- cutting of the battery cables;
- presence of moving bodies inside the vehicle (motion sensor);
- abnormal lifting/tilting of the vehicle.
Depending on the market, triggering the alarm activates the siren and the turn signals (for approximately 26 seconds).
The type of triggering and the number of cycles may vary depending on the market.
However, a maximum number of audible or flashing cycles is provided in all cases.
After the alarm cycle has ended, the system resumes its normal monitoring function.
The interior monitoring and the tilt sensor can be switched off using the corresponding control on the front dome light (see section "Interior monitoring, tilt sensor").
Note: the engine immobilizer function is provided by the Fiat CODE system and is activated automatically when the ignition key is removed from the ignition lock.
