ABS system malfunction

Any malfunction is indicated by the warning lighton the
instrument panel (and by the message on the display) (see chapter "Warning lights and indicators"). In this case the braking system retains its effectiveness, but without anti-lock braking. Drive carefully to the Fiat Service Network to have the system checked.

Note

If only the warning lighton the instrument panel
(together with the message on the display) comes on, stop the vehicle immediately and contact the nearest Fiat Service Network.

Any leak in the hydraulic system affects the braking function of both the conventional brake system and the anti-lock braking system.

EBD system malfunction

Any malfunction is indicated by the warning lightsand
on the instrument panel (and the
message on the display) (see chapter "Warning lights and indicators").

In this case the rear wheels may lock prematurely during hard braking and the vehicle may skid. Drive with extreme care to the nearest Fiat Service Network to have the system checked.

Brake assist (emergency braking assistance) (where fitted)

The system cannot be switched off. It detects emergency braking (based on the speed of pedal application) and brings the brake circuit into action more quickly.

Brake assist is deactivated in the event of any malfunction (indicated by the lamp lighting upand the message on the
display) on vehicles fitted with the ESP system.
