Warning To avoid personal injury, always exercise caution when reversing (R) and when using the sensor system.
The system may not detect objects with sound-absorbing surfaces. Always drive with due care and attention. Failure to do so may result in an accident.
Caution Traffic control systems, fluorescent lamps, inclement weather, pneumatic brakes, external engines and fans may affect the proper operation of the sensor system. This may cause reduced performance or false alerts.
Warning The system may not detect small or moving objects, especially those close to the ground.
Caution The Parking Aid system can only help you detect objects when your vehicle is moving at parking speeds. To avoid injury, you must exercise caution when using the Parking Aid system.
Caution In cold and severe weather conditions the system may not function. Rain, snow and road spray may all limit sensor operation.
Warning If the sensors are damaged in close proximity, have your vehicle checked as soon as possible.
NOTE If your vehicle sustains damage that leaves the sensors misaligned, this may lead to inaccurate readings or false alerts.
When you connect a trailer to your vehicle, the rear Parking Aid detects the trailer and provides an alert. Turn off Parking Aid when connecting a trailer to prevent alerts.
NOTE Some aftermarket accessories installed around the bumper or panel may cause false alerts, for example a large trailer hitch, bicycle racks or surfboard carriers, license plate brackets, bumper covers, or any other device that may block the normal detection zone of the parking aid system. Aftermarket tires or spare tires mounted on the rear door may cause false alerts from the parking aid system. Remove the aftermarket accessory to prevent false alerts.
Do not allow snow, ice, or heavy dirt to accumulate on the sensors. If the sensors are covered, system accuracy may be affected.
Do not clean the sensors with sharp objects.
NOTE When MyKey is programmed, you cannot turn this off.
