Honda TRK Tire Repair Kit

~9min read

For vehicles equipped with the Honda TRK Tire Repair Kit

Your vehicle does not have a spare tire.

Instead, the vehicle is equipped with the Honda TRK Tire Repair Kit (TERRA-S® temporary tire repair kit). This kit is intended for repairing damaged tires only.

When using this kit, be sure to follow the instructions and recommendations given in this manual.

Check the sealant expiration date regularly according to the vehicle maintenance schedule, which depends on the vehicle's service period and mileage.

* For vehicles with a service booklet

The vehicle maintenance schedule is provided in the separate service booklet, which is part of the documentation supplied with the vehicle.

If your vehicle is equipped with a compact spare tire, refer to page 512 for the procedure for replacing a damaged tire.

Instructions for use are supplied with the repair kit. Symbolsнапоминать вам о необходимости прочитать правила использования ремонтного комплекта.on the tyre repair kit packaging are intended to remind you to read the instructions for using the tyre repair kit.

Read all information carefully and follow the recommendations.

The repair kit can be used to repair small punctures in the tire tread caused by nails or screws.

The tire sealant kit must not be used in the following cases.

Contact your dealer or roadside assistance service.

Arrange to have your vehicle towed (see "Towing a Disabled Vehicle" on page 562).

1. If the sealant has expired.

2. If the tread cut is longer than 4 mm.

3. If the tire sidewall is punctured.

4. If the tire is damaged as a result of driving on a partially or fully deflated tire.

5. If the tire has come off the wheel rim.

6. If the wheel rim is damaged.

7. If two or more tires are damaged.

If a tire goes flat, stop the vehicle in a safe place. Park the vehicle on level ground with a firm, non-slippery surface. On vehicles with a manual transmission, shift the gear selector into neutral.

On vehicles with an automatic transmission, shift the selector lever into P (Park). Apply the parking brake.

If you are towing a trailer, disconnect it from the vehicle.

Turn on the hazard warning lights and turn the ignition key to the LOCK (0) position.

Ask all passengers to leave the vehicle while the damaged tire is being repaired.

Откройте заднюю подъемную дверь.

Open the rear liftgate.

Take the Honda TRK kit out of the vehicle. It includes an air compressor, a sealant bottle, a valve core remover, seals, and instructions.

Поверните ключ зажигания в положение ACCESSORY (I). Включите компрессор (L).

Turn the ignition key to the ACCESSORY (I) position. Switch on the compressor (L). Inflate the tire to the recommended pressure (M). Do not inflate the tire for longer than 10 minutes. If the pressure is exceeded, release the excess air.

If the tire cannot be inflated within 10 minutes, this may indicate that the tire is severely damaged.

The repair kit cannot provide the required level of sealing. Contact an authorized Honda dealer or roadside assistance service.

Do not operate the compressor continuously for more than 15 minutes. This may cause it to overheat.

7. Немедленно продолжите движение.

7. Drive off immediately.

Drive the vehicle carefully, not exceeding a speed of 80 km/h.

When driving at speeds above 80 km/h, the vehicle may begin to vibrate, which adversely affects driving safety.

8. After driving 10 minutes or 5 kilometers (3 miles), stop and check the tire pressure with a pressure gauge. Remember that the tire pressure check must be performed with the compressor switched off. If the pressure has not changed, the damage has been sealed. Then perform the tire pressure monitoring system initialization procedure. Observing the necessary precautions, continue driving to an authorized Honda dealer or a roadside assistance service.

9. If the tire pressure has dropped, inflate the tire again to the specified pressure and repeat the procedure from step 6.

Do not continue driving in the following cases.

Contact an authorized Honda dealer or roadside assistance service • Tire pressure has dropped below 130 kPa.

• After performing steps 6 and 7, the tire pressure continues to drop.

• Replace the tire at the nearest Honda dealer. For repair of the damaged tire, consult an authorized Honda dealer.

• After the sealant is removed, the tire may be reused; however, the tire valve must be replaced.

• Dispose of the used container at an authorized Honda dealer.

A tyre service shop will not be able to repair the tyre if the puncture location cannot be determined. After driving on, check the tyre air pressure regularly. If the pressure drops, contact your authorized Honda dealer to have the tyre repaired.
