PROCEDURE

1. Install the universal joint onto the steering gear pinion shaft.

If the steering column is equipped with a tilt mechanism, observe the following conditions.
Failure to observe these conditions may deform the tilt bracket, which may damage the tilt lever and the lever lock.

2. Перед установкой проверьте, что на кронштейне имеется отверстие для шпильки.

2. Before installation, check that the bracket has a hole for the stopper pin.
1) If so, secure the tilt lever in the neutral position, insert the stopper pin into the hole, and then disengage the tilt lever.

3. Вверните болт, крепящий к рулевому валу U–образный элемент универсального

3. Screw in the bolt securing the U-shaped element of the universal joint to the steering shaft.
Tightening torque: 15–20 N•m

4. Временно вверните два монтажных болта.

4. Temporarily install the two mounting bolts.
5. Install the two mounting nuts.
Tightening torque: 13–18 N•m
6. Tighten the two mounting bolts to the specified torque.

7. Если стопор шпильки установлен, переместите рулевую колонку в нижнее положение.

7. If the stopper pin is installed, move the steering column to the lowest position.
