Fluid Level Check

~1min read

Add only the recommended fluid to the power steering hydraulic system.

PROCEDURE

1. Park the vehicle on a flat, level surface.
2. Start the engine and warm the power steering fluid to 50–60 °C. Turn the steering wheel fully from lock to lock several times.
3. With the engine at idle, turn the steering wheel fully from lock to lock several times.
4. Check that there is no foaming in the power steering reservoir.
5. Stop the engine and compare the fluid level in the reservoir with the engine running and with the engine stopped.

Предупреждение

If the fluid level difference is more than 5 mm, bleed air from the power steering hydraulic system.

If the fluid level rises suddenly after the engine is stopped, further bleeding of the power steering hydraulic system is not required.

Incomplete bleeding of the power steering hydraulic system causes noise from the pump and reduces pump service life.
