PROCEDURE

1. Start the engine with the steering wheel set in the straight-ahead position. With the front wheels in the straight-ahead position, measure the force required to turn the steering wheel left and right.

Force: 5 N

2. With the front wheels in the straight-ahead position, gently turn the steering wheel left and right until resistance is felt, and measure the steering gear play. Measure the play at the outer diameter of the steering wheel.
Steering wheel play: 0–30 mm
