To ensure the FCA system operates properly, always check that the sensor cover or sensor is clean and free of dirt, snow, and debris. Dirt, snow, or foreign matter on the sensor cover or the sensor itself may adversely affect sensor performance.

NOTICE

  • Do not install a license plate frame or foreign objects, such as bumper stickers or bumper guards, near the radar sensor. This may adversely affect radar sensor performance.
  • Always keep the radar sensor and sensor cover clean and free of dirt and debris.
  • Use only a soft cloth to wash the vehicle. Do not spray water under pressure directly on the sensor or sensor cover.
  • Be careful not to apply unnecessary force to the radar sensor or sensor cover. If the sensor is forcibly moved out of proper alignment, the FCA system may not operate properly. In this case, the warning message may not appear. Have the vehicle inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI repairer.
  • If the front bumper is damaged in the area around the radar sensor, the FCA system may not operate properly. We recommend having the vehicle inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI service center.
  • Use only genuine parts to repair or replace a damaged sensor or sensor cover. Do not paint the sensor cover.

NOTICE

  • NEVER install any accessories or stickers on the windshield, or tint the windshield.
  • NEVER place reflective objects (such as white paper or a mirror) on top of the instrument panel. Any light reflection may cause system malfunction.
  • Be extremely careful to keep the camera out of water.
  • NEVER disassemble the camera assembly or apply any impact to the camera assembly.
  • Playing the vehicle audio system at high volume may mask the system warning sound.

Information

We recommend having the system inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer when:

  • The windshield has been replaced.
  • The radar sensor or cover is damaged or has been replaced.

Warning Message and Warning Light

FCA OFF (Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist). Radar Blocked

When the sensor cover is blocked by dirt, snow, or debris, the FCA system may temporarily stop operating. If this occurs, a warning message will appear on the LCD display.

Remove the dirt, snow, or debris and clean the radar sensor cover before operating the FCA system. The system will operate normally when such dirt, snow, or debris is removed.

FCA may malfunction in an area (e.g., open terrain) where no objects are detected after the engine is started.
