In this manual: Driving Your Vehicle
~2min read
The LKA system may activate prematurely even if the vehicle does not depart from the intended lane, OR the LKA system may fail to warn you if the vehicle departs from the intended lane under the following circumstances:
When lane markings and road conditions are poor
- It is difficult to distinguish lane markings from the road surface, or lane markings are worn or not clearly marked.
- There are road surface markings resembling lane lines that are unintentionally detected by the camera.
- Lane lines are merged or divided (e.g., toll gate).
- The number of lanes increases or decreases, or the lane marker intersection is complex.
- There are more than two lanes on the road ahead of you.
- The lane line is very thick or thin.
- Lanes ahead are not visible due to rain, snow, water on the road, damaged or painted road surface, or other factors.
- A shadow is on the lane marker by a median strip, trees, etc.
- Lane markings are incomplete or the section is in a construction zone.
- There are pedestrian crossing signs or other symbols on the road.
- The lane line in a tunnel is stained with oil, etc.
When external conditions interfere
- The outside brightness changes suddenly, such as when entering or exiting a tunnel or passing under a bridge.
- The outside brightness is too low, for example, when the headlights are not on at night or the vehicle is passing through a tunnel.
- There is a road boundary structure, such as a concrete barrier, guardrail, or reflector post, that is unintentionally detected by the camera.
- When light from street lights or reflection of an oncoming vehicle on a wet road surface, such as a puddle, is present.
- The forward field of view is blocked by sun glare.
- The lane suddenly disappears, for example at an intersection.
- There is insufficient distance between you and the vehicle ahead to detect the lane lines or a vehicle moving ahead within the lane lines.
- Driving on a steep slope, over a hill, or on a curved road.
- Adverse road conditions cause excessive vibration of the vehicle during driving.
- The temperature around the inside rearview mirror is high due to direct sunlight.
When forward visibility is poor
- The windshield or LKA camera lens is blocked by dirt or debris.
- The windshield is fogged up; a clear view of the road is obstructed.
- Placing objects on the instrument panel, etc.
