LKA System Malfunction Indicator

Hyundai i30. Warning light and message

The LKA system malfunction indicator (yellow) will illuminate if the LKA system is not operating properly. We recommend that the system be inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.

When a problem occurs with the system, perform one of the following actions:

  • Turn the system on after the engine is turned off and then started again.
  • Check whether the ignition switch is in the ON position.
  • Check whether the system is affected by weather conditions (e.g., fog, heavy rain, etc.).
  • Check whether there are any foreign objects on the camera lens.

If the problem is not resolved, we recommend that the system be inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI service center.

The LKA system will not enter the ENABLED state and steering control will not assist when:

  • The turn signal is activated before changing lanes. If you change lanes without activating the turn signal, the steering wheel may be controlled.
  • The vehicle is not centered in the lane when the system is turned on or immediately after changing lanes.
  • ESC (Electronic Stability Control) or VSM (Vehicle Stability Management) is activated.
  • The vehicle is driving through a sharp curve.
  • The vehicle speed is below 60 km/h or above 200 km/h.
  • The vehicle makes a sudden lane change.
  • The vehicle brakes suddenly.
  • Only one lane is detected.
  • The lane is very wide or narrow.
  • There are more than two lanes on the road (e.g., construction site).
  • The vehicle is driving on a steep incline.
