EPB Malfunction Indicator

~1min read
Hyundai Palisade. EPB malfunction indicator

This indicator illuminates when the ignition switch is in the ON position and turns off after approximately 3 seconds if the system is operating normally.

If the EPB malfunction indicator stays on, illuminates while driving, or does not illuminate when the ignition switch is turned to the ON position, the EPB may be malfunctioning.

If this occurs, have the system inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.

The EPB warning light may come on when the ESC warning light comes on, indicating that the ESC is not operating properly. However, this does not indicate a malfunction of the EPB.

NOTICE

  • If the EPB indicator light remains on, have the system inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
  • If the parking brake warning light does not come on or flashes even though the EPB switch has been pulled up, the EPB may not be applied.
  • If the parking brake warning light flashes while the EPB warning light is on, press the switch, then pull it. Repeat this once more. If the EPB warning light does not turn off, have the system inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
