~1min read

To release the EPB (Electronic Parking Brake):
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Press and hold the brake pedal.
- Press the EPB switch.
Make sure the parking brake warning light turns off.
Information
- For your safety, you can use the EPB even when the ignition switch is in the OFF position, but you cannot release it.
- For safety, depress the brake pedal and release the parking brake manually using the EPB switch when driving downhill or reversing uphill.
NOTICE
- If the parking brake warning light remains on even though the EPB has been released, have the system inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
- Do not drive the vehicle with the EPB applied. This may cause excessive brake pad and brake rotor wear.
The EPB (Electronic Parking Brake) may apply automatically when:
- Requested by other systems
- The driver turns off the engine while the Auto Hold function is operating.
