Towing Hitches

It is important to use the correct hitch equipment. Crosswinds, passing large vehicles and uneven roads are some of the reasons why a suitable hitch must be used. Observe the following rules:

• Will you need to drill holes in the vehicle body to install the trailer hitch? If so, be sure to seal them after removing the hitch.
Otherwise, deadly carbon monoxide (CO) contained in the exhaust gas, as well as dirt and water, may enter the passenger compartment.
• Vehicle bumpers are not designed to mount hitches. Do not attach temporary or other hitches to them. Use only hitches that attach to the frame, not to the bumper.
