System Limitations

The Hyundai Digital Key App on the smartphone and the key card may not work if:

• The Hyundai Digital Key App has been deleted.
• The Hyundai account login has expired or the Digital Key App validity period has expired.
• Logged in from another smartphone instead of the registered smartphone with the same user account.
• Smartphone rooting or app tampering is detected.
• The smartphone battery or vehicle battery is discharged.
• The smartphone screen is off or locked.
• NFC or Bluetooth is turned off in the smartphone settings.
• The smartphone mobile network setting is turned off or Airplane Mode is activated.
• The key card is in a wallet or card holder or overlapping with other cards.
• If you use a smartphone case that blocks wireless communication or is made of metal, remove the smartphone case.

The vehicle cannot be operated with the smartphone if any of the following occurs:

• Other smartphone functions (calls, emergency calls, audio, or NFC payment), apps, or wireless earphones are operating.
• Digital Key app functions, such as basic setup or app launch, are restricted by the previous policy set by the manufacturer.
• If you change your smartphone number, change the user account information on the Hyundai Customer website.
• If the vehicle owner changes the smartphone, register the new smartphone to the vehicle after deleting the registered Digital Key (smartphone).
• If a shared user changes or resets the smartphone, share the key again.

Information

• Do not leave the registered Digital Key (smartphone key or card) in your vehicle. Take it with you when leaving the vehicle.
• If you lose your smartphone or key card, immediately delete the key from the vehicle key menu. For more information, refer to "Digital Key" in this chapter. Delete" in this chapter.
• If your registered smartphone key or key card is in the vehicle, the "Digital Key(s) active" message appears on the instrument cluster.
• If you purchase a used vehicle, delete the registered smartphone key and key card.
• If the Digital Key does not work or the vehicle battery is discharged, use the exterior key cylinder to lock all doors.
