Sunroof Motor
Repair Procedures
Inspection
Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
Remove the overhead console lamp.
(Refer to Lighting System - "Overhead Console Lamp")
Ground the terminals as shown in the table below, and check that the sunroof motor operates after disconnecting the sunroof motor connector.

Perform these input tests at the connector. If any test indicates a problem, locate and repair the cause, then recheck the system. If all input tests are normal, replace the sunroof motor as it must be faulty.

Terminal Test Conditions Test: Expected Result 3 IG2 ON Check the voltage to ground: Battery voltage should be present. 1 Under any condition Check the continuity to ground: Continuity should exist. 6 Under any condition Check the voltage to ground: Battery voltage should be present.
Removal
Remove the headliner.
(Refer to Body - "Roof Trim Assembly")
Remove the sunroof motor (A) after loosening the screws.

Installation
Install in the reverse order of removal.
Adjustment
Sunroof Reset
Whenever the vehicle battery is disconnected or discharged, or when the sunroof has been operated manually in an emergency, the sunroof system must be reset using the following procedure:
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and fully close the sunroof.
Release the sunroof control lever.
Press and hold the CLOSE button for more than 10 seconds until the sunroof is fully closed, then slightly reopened.
Release the sunroof control lever.
Press and hold the CLOSE button again for 5 seconds until the sunroof operates as follows:
Tilt → Slide Open → Slide Close
Then release the lever.
The panoramic roof reset procedure is complete.
Motor Overheat Protection
To protect the sunroof motor from overheating during continuous operation, the sunroof ECU controls the operating time and cooling time of the motor as follows:
The sunroof ECU determines the motor operating time.
The motor can operate continuously for the 1st operating time (120 ± 10 sec.).
Continuous motor operation stops after the 1st operating time (120 ± 10 sec.).
The motor then does not operate for the 1st cooling time (18 ± 2 sec.).
The motor operates for the 2nd operating time (10 ± 2 sec.) while motor operation continues after the 1st cooling time (18 ± 2 sec.).
Continuous motor operation stops after the 2nd operating time (10 ± 2 sec.).
The engine does not operate during the 2nd cooling time (18 ± 2 sec.).
The motor repeats the 2nd operating time and 2nd cooling time while continuous operation continues.
If the motor does not operate continuously, the operating time is increased.
The engine operating time is reset to "0" if the battery or fuse is reconnected after being disconnected, discharged, or blown.

T1: 120 ± 10 s, T2: 18 ± 2 s,
T3: 10 ± 2 sec., T4: 18 ± 2 sec.
