Cabin Air Filter

The cabin air filter of the Kia Opirus (2003–2012) improves air quality for all occupants. Using an ionizer filter system, dust, odors and pollutants are effectively removed from the cabin air, which is especially important in urban environments or for allergy sufferers. The operating modes – AUTO, LOW, HIGH – allow demand-based control. Regular filter replacement according to the maintenance schedule ensures that the system remains efficient and provides fresh air at all times.

With the ignition on, press the switch on the instrument panel to turn on cabin air filtration.

To clean the air in the vehicle interior, dust, odors and exhaust gases are filtered out of the air by an ionizer air filter system in an air duct in the upper partition behind the rear seatback.

Operating modes

Select from the following modes:

• OFF - No airflow.
• AUTO - Airflow is regulated and filtered automatically using sensors, and ionized air is released.
• LOW - Airflow is low, the air is filtered, and ionized air is released.
• HIGH - Airflow is high, the air is filtered, and ionized air is released.

The cabin air filter system must be replaced at regular intervals as specified by the manufacturer.

If the air filter system has been used in a particularly dusty environment or in areas with high pollution levels (very heavy traffic), the filter must be replaced more often than specified in the maintenance schedule.

NOTE

If the cabin air filter system is operated with a contaminated filter, system performance will be reduced.
