Driver's seat memory system
The driver's seat memory system of the Kia Opirus (2003–2012) stores the positions of the seat, steering wheel and mirrors at the push of a button. Several driver profiles can be recalled easily – an ideal function for multi-person use. Whether via the door switches, remote control or electronic key, the system adapts to your needs and provides luxury at the push of a button. A feature that makes everyday driving considerably easier.

The driver's seat memory system lets you recall stored settings for the seat, steering wheel and outside mirrors at the push of a button. Different settings can be stored for several drivers.
If the vehicle battery is disconnected, the data stored in the driver's seat memory system will be lost. In this case, please store the settings for the seat, steering wheel and outside mirrors again if necessary.
Storing settings using the door switches
Storing the driver's seat position
1. With the ignition switched on, move the selector lever to Park (P).
2. Adjust the driver's seat, steering wheel and outside mirrors so that your seating position is comfortable.
3. Press the M button on the switch panel of the driver's door.
4. Within 5 seconds of pressing the M button, press the button labelled 1 or 2 to store your settings. When the settings have been stored successfully, two audible signals sound.
Your settings are now stored under 1 or 2, depending on which button was used.
Recalling stored settings from memory
1. With the ignition switched on, move the selector lever to Park (P).
2. To recall the stored settings from memory, press the corresponding button (1 or 2) under which you stored your settings. One audible signal sounds and the driver's seat, steering wheel and outside mirrors move to the previously stored settings.
If a control switch for one of these systems is operated during the automatic adjustment of the driver's seat, steering wheel and outside mirrors, the automatic adjustment of the activated system is stopped and that system follows the setting made using the selected button.
The other systems move to their previously stored positions.
To stop the automatic adjustment of the systems, press the STOP button once.
Storing and recalling settings with the remote control
Storing with the remote control
Turn the ignition key from the ON position to the LOCK position, then lock the doors with the remote control. The current settings of the driver's seat, steering wheel and outside mirrors are now stored.
Recalling settings with the remote control
When you unlock the doors with the remote control, the driver's seat, steering wheel and outside mirrors automatically move to the previously stored positions.
If you use two remote controls for your vehicle, the adjustment time may differ because the adjustment data stored in each remote control may be different.
Example: If the doors are locked with remote control A and then unlocked with remote control B, the adjustment data from the last locking operation with remote control B is recalled.
This process may take a little longer than unlocking the doors with remote control A.
Storing and recalling settings with the electronic key*
Storing with the electronic key
Turn the ignition switch from the ON position to the LOCK position and lock the doors with the electronic key.
Your settings for the seat, steering wheel and outside mirrors are now stored automatically.
Recalling driver settings with the electronic key
When you unlock the driver's door with the electronic key, the settings are recalled and the driver's seat, steering wheel and outside mirrors automatically move to the corresponding positions.
If you open another door, the settings are not recalled.
If you use two electronic keys, the adjustment times may differ due to the different adjustment data.
Example: If the doors are locked with key A and then unlocked with key B, the adjustment data from the last locking operation with key B is recalled.
This process takes slightly longer than unlocking the doors with key A.
The driver's seat memory system in the Kia Opirus 2003–2011 provides convenience for anyone who shares the vehicle with other drivers. Seat, mirror and steering wheel settings can be stored and recalled at the push of a button.
