The sunroof in the Kia Opirus provides not only fresh air and daylight but also convenience. Automatic functions for opening, tilting and closing make it easy to operate, while safety features such as anti-pinch protection and an emergency operation function in case of a malfunction are integrated. A manual crank serves as a backup in the event of an electrical fault. Notes on care and protection from weather conditions (e.g. icing) help keep the system functioning for a long time.

Schiebedach

If your vehicle is equipped with a sunroof, you can tilt up or slide open the sunroof using the switches in the overhead console.

The sunroof can only be operated with the ignition switched on.

CAUTION
  • Do not continue to press the sunroof switch(es) once the sunroof has reached its final position when opening, closing or tilting up. This could damage the sunroof motor or other system components.
  • If the sunroof is tilted up, it cannot be slid back. Likewise, it cannot be tilted up if it is already fully or partially slid back.

In an emergency

If the sunroof cannot be moved electrically:

1. Remove the lens cover.

2. Open the glove box.

3. Remove the screws (4 pcs.) and then remove the overhead console.

4. Attach the hand crank (supplied with your vehicle).

Turn the crank clockwise to open the sunroof, or turn the crank counterclockwise to close the sunroof.

Resetting (re-initializing) the sunroof

After the battery cables have been disconnected, or after the sunroof has been moved with the hand crank, the sunroof must be reset as follows:

1. Switch the ignition on.

2. Proceed as follows, depending on the sunroof position.

  1. If the sunroof is fully closed or tilted up: Press the TILT UP button for 1 second.
  2. If the sunroof is slid open: Press the TILT UP button and keep it pressed for longer than 5 seconds until the sunroof is fully closed.

Then press the button again for 1 second.

3. Then release the button.

4. Press the TILT UP button again and keep it pressed until the sunroof has moved to the normal tilted-up position (TILT UP). Before the normal tilt-up position is reached, the sunroof briefly moves to a higher tilt-up position than usual.

After this sequence of movements, the sunroof is reset (re-initialized).

The sunroof in the Kia Opirus 2003–2011 provides additional comfort and ensures pleasant ventilation of the interior. Electric control allows simple operation and precise adjustment of the sunroof.
