  1. Turn the ignition "OFF" and disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.

  2. Remove the lower instrument panel trim.

    (Refer to Body - "Lower Instrument Panel Trim")

  3. Disconnect the brake switch connector (A).

  4. Remove the lock pin (A) and cotter pin (B).

  5. Loosen the brake pedal mounting nuts (A).

    Tightening torque: 16.7 ~ 26 N·m N·m

TEST

  1. Check the bushings for wear.

  2. Check the brake pedal for deformation and twisting.

  3. Inspect the brake pedal return spring for damage.

Installation

  1. Installation is the reverse of removal.
