DISC PLATE

  1. Remove the rear wheels and tires.

    Tightening torque: 107.9 ~ 128 N·m

  2. Release the parking brake lever. The parking brake cable is slack.

  3. Remove the clip (B) and remove the parking brake cable (A).

  4. To loosen the cable, turn the adjuster in the direction of the arrow below, pull, then remove the parking brake cable (A).

  5. Loosen the hollow bolt (A).

    Tightening torque: 24.5~29 N·m

  6. Loosen the caliper mounting bolts, then remove the rear caliper.

    Tightening torque: 78.5 ~ 98 N·m

  7. Loosen the screw (A) on the rear brake disc, then remove the rear brake disc.

    Tightening torque: 4.9 ~ 6.9 N·m

BRAKE PAD

  1. Remove the rear wheels and tires.

    Tightening torque: 107.9 ~ 128 N·m

  2. Loosen the caliper mounting bolts, then remove the rear caliper.

    Tightening torque: 21.6~31 N·m

  3. Remove the pad return spring (A) and separate the pad (B).

TEST

INSPECT REAR BRAKE DISC THICKNESS

  1. Inspect the brake pads for wear.

  2. Inspect the brake disc for damage and cracks.

  3. Remove all rust and dirt from the surface and measure the disc thickness at 8 points, keeping the same distance (5 mm) from the outer edge of the brake disc.

    Rear brake disc thickness

    Standard value: 10 mm

    Wear limit: 8.4 mm

    Runout: less than 0.005 mm

  4. If wear exceeds the limit, replace the brake discs and pads in pairs, left and right.

INSPECT REAR BRAKE PADS

  1. Inspect the brake pads for wear. Measure the brake pad thickness and replace the pads if they fall below the wear limit.

    brake pad thickness

    Standard value: 10 mm

Service limit: 2.0 mm Wear limit: 2.0 mm

  2. Make sure grease is applied to the sliding contact points, and check the coating and backing material for damage.

INSPECT REAR BRAKE DISC RUNOUT

  1. Position the dial indicator approximately 5 mm (0.2 in) from the outer edge of the brake disc, and measure the disc runout.

Brake disc runout limit: 0.03 mm or less (new)

  2. If brake disc runout exceeds the limit, replace the brake disc. Then repeat the measurement.

  3. If runout does not exceed the limit, rotate the brake disc 180° and measure runout again.

  4. If runout cannot be corrected by changing the brake disc position, replace the brake disc.

Installation

  1. Installation is the reverse of removal.

  2. Use the special service tool (09581-11000) when installing the brake caliper.

  3. After installation, bleed the brake system.
