Driving at higher speeds

Guida a velocità più sostenuta

Tyres Adjust the tyre pressures to the specifications. Insufficient tyre pressure causes overheating and possible tyre failure.

Do not use worn or damaged tyres, as they may cause loss of grip or tyre failure.

NOTE Never exceed the maximum tyre pressure shown on the tyres.

WARNING

  • Tyres inflated incorrectly, either too low or too high, can cause handling problems, loss of vehicle control, and sudden tyre failure, leading to accidents and injuries, including fatal ones.

Always check that the tyre pressures are correct before driving. For the correct pressures, refer to "Wheels and tyres" in chapter 8.

  • Driving with fully or partially worn tread is dangerous. Worn tyres can cause loss of vehicle control, collisions and fatal or serious injuries.
  • Replace worn tires as soon as possible and do not drive on them. Always check the tread depth of the tires before driving the vehicle. For more information and the tread depth limits, refer to "Wheels and Tires" in chapter 7.

Fuel, engine coolant and engine oil High-speed driving results in higher fuel consumption than urban driving. Do not forget to check the engine coolant and engine oil.

Drive belt A loose or damaged drive belt may cause the engine to overheat.
