General ways to protect the vehicle interior

Protect interior parts from chemicals such as perfume, cosmetic oil, sunscreen, hand cleaner and air freshener, as they may cause damage or discoloration of surfaces. If they come into contact with interior parts, use vinyl cleaning products, see the instructions for proper use.

CAUTION Never allow water or other liquids to contact electrical/electronic components inside the vehicle, as this may cause damage. CAUTION When cleaning leather products (steering wheel, seats, etc.), use cleaners or solutions with a low alcohol content. If solutions with a high alcohol content or acid/alkali-based cleaners are used, the leather color may fade or the surface may peel in patches.

Cleaning upholstery and the interior

Vinyl

Remove dirt and debris from vinyl surfaces using a vacuum cleaner or a soft brush. Use a special vinyl cleaner to clean vinyl surfaces.

Fabric

Remove dirt and debris from fabrics using a special brush or a vacuum cleaner. For upholstery or floor mats, clean with a mild soap solution. Treat fresh stains immediately with a stain remover. If fresh stains are not treated right away, they may become permanent and discolor the fabric. Failure to keep materials in proper condition may also reduce their flame resistance.

CAUTION Using non-recommended cleaners or cleaning methods may adversely affect the appearance and flame resistance of fabrics.

Cleaning seat belts / lap belts

Clean seat belt webbing with a mild soap solution recommended for cleaning upholstery or carpets. Follow the instructions supplied with the soap. Do not bleach or re-dye the belts, as this may weaken their performance.

Cleaning the inside surfaces of window glass

If the inside surfaces of the vehicle windows become fogged (that is, covered with a film of oil, grease or wax), clean them using a special glass cleaner.

Strictly follow the instructions on the glass cleaner container.

CAUTION Never clean the inside surfaces of window glass by scraping. This may damage the rear window defroster circuit lines.
