Shift lever to "P" position (automatic transmission)

If you try to turn off the engine without shifting the gear selector lever to P (Park), the ENGINE START/STOP button will change to ACC. If the button is pressed again, it will switch to ON. The LCD display will show a warning for 10 seconds, reminding you to press the ENGINE START/STOP button to turn off the engine with the gear selector lever in P (Park). In addition, a warning chime will sound for approximately 10 seconds. (if equipped)

If the ENGINE START/STOP button cannot be used due to a problem with its system, a warning will be displayed for 10 seconds and the warning chime will sound continuously, indicating that you can start the engine by pressing the ENGINE START/STOP button again.

The warning chime will stop if the Engine Start/Stop button system operates normally or the anti-theft alarm system is armed.

If the warning is displayed each time the ENGINE START/STOP button is pressed, take the vehicle to an authorized Kia dealer to have the system checked.

To start the engine, use "P" or "N" position (automatic transmission)

If you try to start the engine without shifting the gear selector lever to P (Park) or N (Neutral), a warning will be displayed on the LCD for approximately 10 seconds.

You can start the engine with the gear selector lever in N (Neutral), but for your own safety, you should start the engine with the gear selector lever in P (Park).

If the steering wheel does not unlock normally after pressing the ENGINE START/STOP button, a warning will be displayed on the LCD for approximately 10 seconds. In addition, the warning chime will sound once and the ENGINE START/STOP button indicator will flash for 10 seconds.

When the warning appears, press the ENGINE START/STOP button while turning the steering wheel left and right.

Check steering wheel lock system (if equipped)

If the steering wheel does not lock normally after turning the ENGINE START/STOP button to the OFF position, a warning will be displayed on the LCD for approximately 10 seconds. In addition, the warning chime will sound for 3 seconds and the ENGINE START/STOP button indicator will flash for 10 seconds.

Check stop lamp fuse (if equipped)

When the stop lamp fuse blows, a warning will be displayed on the LCD for approximately 10 seconds.

Replace the fuse with a new one.

If the engine cannot be started, you can start it by pressing and holding the ENGINE START/STOP button for 10 seconds while the button is in the ACC position.

Low washer fluid (if equipped)

This warning light illuminates for 10 seconds when the washer fluid reservoir is nearly empty.

If the TRIP button is pressed while the warning light is on, the LCD display will switch to TRIP mode for 4 seconds, then return to the low washer fluid display. Add washer fluid to the reservoir as soon as possible.

Door open! (if equipped)

Shows the door or tailgate that is not properly closed.

Rear parking assist warning (if equipped)

Displays the area of a detected obstacle while the vehicle is reversing. For more detailed information, refer to chapter 4 "Rear Parking Assist System".

Align steering wheel (set steering wheel straight ahead) (if equipped)

If the engine is started while the steering wheel is turned 90 degrees to the left, after a few seconds the message "Align steering wheel" will appear on the LCD for 5 seconds.

Turn the steering wheel left and right through an angle of less than 30 degrees.

If the engine is started while the steering wheel is turned 90 degrees to the right, after a few seconds the message "Align steering wheel" will appear on the LCD for 5 seconds.

Turn the steering wheel right and left through an angle of less than 30 degrees.

Low tire pressure warning indicator (optional)

Illuminates when one of the tires is significantly under-inflated.

If this happens, have the system checked by an authorised Kia dealer as soon as possible.
