These vehicles are fitted with brake hoses sealed without a copper washer. The seal is made by contact in a “cone bottom” on the shoulder (Y) of the hose.

PRECAUTIONS TO TAKE WHEN REMOVING AND REFITTING A WHEEL CYLINDER OR BRAKE HOSE

For safety reasons, to prevent the brake hose from being twisted and coming into contact with a suspension component, the following order of operations must be followed:

REMOVAL

Unscrew the union nut (1) (flare nut spanner) of the rigid pipe from the hose (2) until the spring (3) is relaxed, which releases the hose from the grooves (4).

Flexibles de frein

Unscrew the hose from the caliper, and if necessary the caliper.

INSTALLATION

Refit the caliper onto the brake and screw the hose onto it, then tighten to a torque of 1.5 daN.m.

Hoses must be fitted with the axle in the following position:

  • Wheels hanging (suspension in place)
  • Axle in line (wheels straight)

Position the female end of the hose on the retaining bracket (5), without twisting stress, and check that the end fitting (4) engages freely in the grooves of the bracket, then fit:

  1. the spring (3),
  2. the rigid pipe onto the hose, taking care that the hose does not turn as you screw it on.

Tighten the union nut to torque.

Bleed the brake circuit.
