REMOVAL
IMPORTANTBefore removing any component of the safety system, lock the airbag control unit using the diagnostic tool. When this function is active, all firing circuits are inhibited and the airbag warning light on the dashboard comes on (ignition on).
- Remove:
- the seat,
- the seat cushion trim (see bodywork repair manual).
- Disconnect the anti-submarining airbag connector.

- Remove the fixing screws (1).
For disposal of an undeployed airbag, (see Airbags and Pretensioners chapter, Airbag and Pretensioner Control Unit, page 88C-39).
INSTALLATION

After an anti-submarining airbag has deployed, certain parts must be replaced without fail (see Airbags and Pretensioners chapter, Airbag and Pretensioner Control Unit, page 88C-6).

- Tighten the anti-submarining airbag mounting bolts in the order shown and to torque (0.8 daN.m).
- Observe the routing and mounting points of the wiring.
- Replace any defective parts.
- Reconnect the connector.
Check the airbag ECU using the diagnostic tool.
- If everything is correct, unlock the airbag control unit; otherwise, refer to the diagnostic manual.
