Tightening torques
side impact sensor mounting screw 0.8 daN.m
IMPORTANT

Before removing any component of the safety system, lock the airbag control unit using the diagnostic tool. When this function is active, all firing circuits are inhibited and the airbag warning light on the instrument panel comes on steady (ignition on).

REMOVAL

  • Remove the lower centre pillar trim (see Lower centre pillar trim).
  • Remove the sensor mounting screw.
  • Disconnect the connector.
  • Remove the side impact sensors located on each side, behind the centre pillar trim.

INSTALLATION

  • Position the sensor using its lug.
  • Tighten the side impact sensor mounting screw to torque (0.8 daN.m).
  • Reconnect the connector.

IMPORTANT Carry out a check with the diagnostic tool.

  • Unlock the control unit.
Note: These sensors do not require learning with the diagnostic tool.
  • Refit in the reverse order of removal.
