Deactivation switch: Operation
In this manual: Electrical equipment
~1min read
The deactivation switch is located on the side panel of the passenger-side dashboard.

This switch has two positions:
- ON position = passenger airbags operational (resistance = 400 Ω),
- OFF position = passenger airbags deactivated to allow a child seat to be fitted.
This position is indicated on the instrument panel by an amber "airbag OFF" warning light (resistance = 100 Ω).
The deactivation switch inhibits the firing circuits of:
- the passenger frontal airbag,
- the front thorax side airbag,
- the lap belt pretensioner (five-door saloon),
- the anti-submarining airbag (three-door saloon).
- The front seat belt is designed to work with a passenger frontal airbag. Observe the part number when replacing it.
- The position of the deactivation switch is only taken into account with the ignition off if the control unit is correctly configured.
