~1min read
PROCEDURE
The cooling system is fully sealed and consists of the radiator, water pump, thermostat, expansion tank, connecting hoses and electric cooling fan. The system operates as follows. While the engine is cold, the thermostat is closed and the coolant circulates through the small circuit, bypassing the radiator. When the coolant temperature reaches approximately 87 °C, the thermostat begins to open and the coolant starts circulating through the large circuit via the radiator. The electric cooling fan is switched on by the thermal switch at a coolant temperature of 93–98 °C and switched off at a temperature of 88–93 °C. Cooling system capacity for engines with a displacement of 1.1 and 1.3 L – 5.5 L, for engines with a displacement of 1.6 and 1.8 L, and for diesel engines – 6.5 L.
