The central locking in the Volvo S80 (2nd generation, 2013–2016) allows all doors and the tailgate to be locked and unlocked simultaneously from inside. This section explains operation using the switches on the driver's and front passenger doors and the opening handle. It also introduces automatic locking when driving off, which can be adjusted via the menu system. Notes on using the ventilation function provide additional convenience.

All doors and the tailgate can be locked and unlocked with the central locking switch on the driver's and front passenger doors*.

  • To lock, press one sideof the switch - to unlock, press the other side.

Hold down to also open all side windows* at the same time.

Unlocking

From inside, a door can be unlocked in two different ways:

  • Using the central locking switchpress.

If the switch is held down, all side windows will also open at the same time* (see also ventilation function).

  • Pull the opening handle once and release - the door is unlocked. Pull the handle again. The door opens.

Locking

  • After closing the front doors, press the central locking switchpress.

If the switch is held down, all side windows and the tailgate will also close at the same time (see also ventilation function).

All doors can also be locked individually by hand using the respective locking switch - the door must be closed for this.

Automatic locking

When the vehicle begins to move, the doors and the tailgate are locked automatically.

The function can be activated/deactivated in the MY CAR menu system. For more information on the menu system, see MY CAR.

The central locking of the Volvo S80 (2nd gen) allows convenient operation from inside. At the press of a button, all doors and the tailgate can be locked or unlocked. The windows can also be opened or closed at the same time using the ventilation function.
