Dodge Charger. Installing Child Restraints Using The Top Tether Anchorage:
  1. Look behind the seating position where you plan to install the child restraint to locate the tether anchor. You may need to move the seat forward to gain better access to the tether anchor. If there is no top tether anchor for this seating position, move the child restraint to another seating position in the vehicle, if available.
  2. Turn or lift the cover to access the anchor located directly behind the seat where you are installing the child restraint.
  3. Route the strap so that it provides the most direct path between the anchor and the child restraint. If your vehicle has adjustable rear head restraints, raise the head restraint and, if possible, route the strap under the head restraint and between the two posts. If this is not possible, lower the head restraint and route the strap around the outside of the head restraint.

  4. Attach the tether hook of the child restraint to the top tether anchor as shown in the illustration.
  5. 5. Remove the slack from the tether strap according to the child restraint manufacturer's instructions.
  • An improperly secured top tether strap may increase movement and the possibility of injury to the child. Use only the anchor located directly behind the child seat to secure the top tether strap of the child restraint.
  • If your vehicle is equipped with a split rear seat, make sure the shoulder belt does not slip into the gap between the seatbacks when removing belt slack.

Center Tether Anchorage

  1. If adjustable, lower the adjustable center head restraint to the full down position.
  2. Route the tether strap over the seatback and head restraint.
  3. Attach the child restraint tether hook to the center tether anchorage located in the panel between the rear seatback and the rear window.
  4. Remove belt slack in accordance with the child restraint manufacturer's instructions.
