Increasing or Decreasing the Set Speed
After setting a speed, you can increase the set speed by pressing the SET (+) button, or decrease the set speed by pressing the SET (-) button.
US Speed (mph)
- Pressing the SET (+) or SET (-) button once will adjust the set speed by 1 mph. Each additional press of the button adjusts the set speed by 1 mph.
- If the button is held continuously, the set speed will change in 5 mph increments until the button is released. The new set speed is shown in the instrument cluster display.
Metric Speed (km/h)
- A single press of the SET (+) or SET (-) button will adjust the speed by 1 km/h. Each subsequent press of the button adjusts the speed by 1 km/h.
- If the button is held continuously, the set speed will continue to adjust in 10 km/h increments until the button is released. The new set speed is shown in the instrument cluster display.
NOTE:
When you override and press the SET (+) or SET (-) button, the new set speed will be the current vehicle speed.
When Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) following distance is also set:
- When using the SET (-) button to decelerate, if engine braking does not slow the vehicle sufficiently to reach the set speed, the brake system will automatically slow the vehicle.
- The ACC system applies the brakes to a complete stop when following a vehicle ahead. If your vehicle follows a vehicle ahead to a complete stop, your vehicle will release the brakes two seconds after coming to a complete stop.
- The ACC system maintains the set speed while driving up and down hills. However, a slight change in speed on moderate hills is normal. In addition, downshifting may occur when going up or down a hill. This is normal operation and is necessary to maintain the set speed. While driving up and down hills, the ACC system will turn off if the brake temperature exceeds the normal range (overheating).
