What is Hill Start Assist

Provides additional braking on a hill using a combination of engine braking and high-voltage battery charging to help maintain vehicle speed when descending a grade.

Turning Hill Start Assist On and Off

Press the Hill Start Assist button to activate Hill Start Assist. The Hill Start Assist indicator appears in the instrument cluster. Press the button again to turn it off.

Your vehicle controls the amount of engine braking and high-voltage battery charging. You may notice the engine speed increase and decrease to help maintain vehicle speed when descending a hill.
