  1. Shift into Park (P).
  2. Apply the parking brake.
  3. Wait until the engine returns to idle speed.

  2. Apply the parking brake.

  1. Turn the key to the 0 position.
  2. Shift into Neutral and use the brakes to bring the vehicle to a safe stop.
  3. Shift into Park (P).
  4. Apply the parking brake.

Vehicles with Push Button Start

  1. Press and hold the ignition switch until the engine stops, or press it three times within two seconds.
  2. Shift into Neutral and use the brakes to bring the vehicle to a safe stop.
  3. Shift into Park (P).
  4. Apply the parking brake.
