The primary purpose of the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) is to reduce the severity of a collision when an accident is unavoidable. The CMBS can warn you of danger and help minimize injuries and vehicle damage, but the system cannot provide effective protection in all hazardous situations.
Therefore, even with the CMBS, the driver remains fully responsible for safety and must steer and brake in a timely manner to avoid colliding with other vehicles.
