Brake System

Pressure regulator

~1min read

Do not remove the brake pressure regulator. The brake pressure regulator controls the brake pressure in the rear wheel brake circuit depending on the load on the rear axle. As the load increases, it allows brake fluid to flow to the rear wheel cylinders, which increases the pressure in their circuit and improves the efficiency of the rear brakes.
Brake pressure limiting function check.

PROCEDURE

1. Connect two pressure gauges, one on the inlet side and one on the outlet side of the brake pressure regulator.

After connecting the pressure gauges, bleed air from the brake system.

2. Нажмите педаль тормоза и измерьте входное и выходное давления. Если давления

2. Depress the brake pedal and measure the inlet and outlet pressures. If the pressures are within the allowable range as shown in the illustration, the brake pressure regulator is normal.
3. Remove the pressure gauges, connect the brake tubes in their original positions and bleed air from the brake system.

Brake Pressure Regulator Installation

PROCEDURE

1. Connect the brake tubes.
2. Tighten the tube flare nuts and bleed air from the brake system.

Flare nut tightening torque: 13–17 N•m
Brake pressure regulator mounting nut tightening torque: 8–12 N•m
