Emergency Braking
If there is a problem with the brake pedal while driving, emergency braking is possible by pulling up and holding the EPB switch. Braking is only possible while you hold the EPB switch. However, the braking distance will be longer than normal.
WARNING
Do not operate the parking brake while the vehicle is moving except in an emergency. This may damage the brake system and cause a serious accident.
Information
During emergency braking, the parking brake indicator light comes on to indicate that the system is operating.
NOTICE
If you constantly notice noise or a burning smell when the EPB is used for emergency braking, we recommend that the system be inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI service technician.
When the EPB (Electronic Parking Brake) does not release
If the EPB does not operate normally, we recommend that you have the vehicle towed by a flatbed truck to an authorized HYUNDAI service center and have the system inspected.
