EPB Malfunction Indicator

~1min read
Hyundai i30. EPB malfunction indicator

This indicator light comes on when the Engine Start/Stop button is turned to the ON position and turns off after approximately 3 seconds if the system is operating normally.

If the EPB warning light stays on, comes on while driving, or does not come on when the Engine Start/Stop button is turned to the ON position, the EPB may be malfunctioning.

If this occurs, we recommend that the system be inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI service center.

The EPB warning light may come on when the ESC warning light comes on, indicating that the ESC is not operating properly. However, this does not indicate a malfunction of the EPB.

NOTICE

  • If the EPB warning light still remains on, we recommend that the system be inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
  • If the parking brake warning light does not come on or flashes even though the EPB switch has been pulled up, the EPB may not be applied.
  • If the parking brake indicator light flashes while the EPB warning light is on, press the switch and then pull it up. Repeat this several times. If the EPB warning light does not turn off, we recommend that the system be inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI service center.
